Fairmont Team Wins International Arbitration Award for Energy Client

A Fairmont & Associates dispute resolution team has secured a landmark ICC arbitration award in favour of a major international energy company, following a complex 18-month arbitration proceeding. The $380 million dispute arose from the premature termination of an energy infrastructure development agreement in a Central Asian jurisdiction. The Fairmont team, led by Partner Margaret A. Sterling, successfully argued that the termination was wrongful and that the client was entitled to full damages including lost profits.
